ECSC SERVICES

Enterprise and Community Support Company's services are based on the premise that a healthy community requires a healthy economy.  To achieve both a healthy community and economy, a neighborhood must be able to generate intensive, on-going, positive community relationships and a strong entrepreneurial culture. Standard social and economic policies and programs have not yielded the necessary results because they do not realistically address the requirements of human nature, community and entrepreneurship.

To achieve maximum success in any community development effort, community building activities need to be comprehensive and systematic. By comprehensive, we mean that for a community to be revitalized, a variety of issues (housing conditions, employment, youth, etc.) need to be addressed simultaneously.  Our systematic approach recognizes that a neighborhood or target area needs be viewed like a system, where the various neighborhood issues influence each other.  For example, improved youth development may reduce crime which can raise property values.

Our programs offer a departure from standard community development strategies that act to ameliorate the consequences of poverty.  Our approach works simultaneously at the individual level and the community level. It works at the individual level to help residents create and/or find jobs thereby becoming financially self- sufficient.  At the community level, our programs mobilize the neighborhood stakeholders to determine goals, develop measurable objectives and make commitments to work on projects to address these objectives.  This approach also involves not-for-profit and government agencies in the design of community development initiatives and then holds them and others, accountable for their promised contributions to reach agreed-upon objectives.

Because community organizations are usually financially strapped we work closely with our clients to leverage existing resources.  We will also work with potential clients to identify and obtain funds for our programs.
