Enterprise and Community Support Company (ECSC) was formed in 1996 as a division of Micro Business Development Programs, Inc..  ECSC was established because it became clear, after working for many years training people to go into business for themselves, that training activity alone is not nearly enough to sustain individual enterprise succes for any reasonable or meaningful period of time. Sustained success requires a level of community support and involvement that only occurs as part of an ongoing, positive cultural transmission process.

    The principals of the two companies have extensive experience in training and working with micro entrepreneurs. They have been active for many years in volunteerism, community organization and development programs; social policy analysis, implementation, research, evaluation and results measurement; and, public management, bureaucracy and program execution.  They have also been successful in establishing and operating their own businesses.

     The company's mission is based on the belief that the large majority of public programs underperform or fail because they do not sufficiently take into human nature and motivations, are inappropriately politicized and too fragmented, and are not results-oriented.  ECSC's solution approach to its mission is to design comprehensive, systemic programs that take into account human psychology, organizational design and information technology to solve community and social problems in measureable ways.
